February ... at last!

January has been a long, dreary, wet month here in Suffolk.  I can't complain too much because we haven't had the flooding like Somerset, but it's been pretty miserable.  But, the days are starting to lengthen and hopefully we'll get much needed light this month.

Although we don't celebrate it (my husband doesn't even bother to say the token 'we don't do valentines cards do we?!' anymore, I do sell a lot to other romantics amongst you!  Thought I'd show you a quick and simple hand made card you could whip up in 10 minutes.

How to make a simple, but effective Valentines card

- cut out a large heart in fabric
- cut a smaller heart in co-ordinating felt
- sew 'LOVE' or similar ribbon on smaller heart
- hand or machine sew felt heart to fabric heart
- pva glue the completed heart to your card

...and that's all there is to it. Simple, but very pretty

  3. This year seems to be hurtling past already. But I agree on the need for more light. January has been so dreary. Unlike your lovely card!

  4. Lovely little cards - I guess, after making so many, the actual day probably looses it's appeal anyway. John and I don't do much but we do try to remember (sometimes that is a challenge!). Julie

  8. Lovely cards. Valentines Day isn't celebrated here either. Glad February is here, but it's still raining and really windy. I'm not complaining though, it makes it lovely to be indoors.

  12. We don't celebrate Valentines day anymore either really. All we do is just enjoy a nice meal out together. After 23 years together thats all we really need. I just love the cards you've created. Hand made cards are such a nice touch. Its snowing here in Texas. Wish Spring was already here.

  13. We'll be celebrating our 25 year wedding anniversary this year, so yes I see what you mean. I think we're all ready for Spring now, I'd be happy for a little of your snow at the moment rather than the constant grey, rainy days we're having at the moment. Have a good week. Julie x

  14. Pretty things :) We celebrate the anniversary of our engagement on Feb 14 (like lots of other people I'm sure) so we do like to make a bit of a fuss about the day :D
