What a great weekend!  Lots of garden clearing and planting.  On Saturday night we had a girls night in with a pot luck supper, all the recipes coming from this months Good Food magazine.  Every dish was fab, probably better than a lot of restaurant food.  The sun is shining again today so I'm hoping to get a bit more done out in the garden, but Harry has a friend (Geoffrey!) round to play for the day, so I might spend a fair  bit of it refereeing!  Made Eliza over the weekend, really pleased with how she turned out, her dress is fully reversible too, I think these dolls will be popular, so I'd better get on.  Hope the sun is shining where you are and that you have a lovely week x

I seem to be flitting from one thing to another at the moment.  The sun is shining at last so I am trying to get vegetable beds ready for planting and generally tidy and weed the rest of the garden.  I re-seeded all of the patches in our grass (you couldn't call it a lawn) and then sat and watched 3 pigeons eat half of it for lunch.  There are a lot of broken pots and other rubbish in the garden and our garage and shed need a good old clear out so I've also ordered a skip.  In between all that I have been making more cards!  Phew I feel worn out just reading that.

Anyway today I am giving myself a day off... I am meeting some friends for lunch in a nearby village at a place that sells my stuff so I will restock them whilst I'm there! So almost a day off!  Hope the sun shines where you are today x

I love living in Suffolk, the countryside is fabulous, although we could do with more hills! But most of all I love living so near to the coast.  If I don't walk by the sea at least every month I start to get a bit antsy. I find it really relaxing listening to the waves and the noise of the stones being dragged back with the tide.  I came back from a walk at nearby Felixstowe on Thursday and was inspired to sew some new seaside themed cards.  More to come next week!  Happy weekend everyone x

It's been a busy week or so. My friend Helen who started Haggiz with me nearly 4 years ago has decided, after a lot of soul searching, that she no longer wants to sew with a view to selling her things.  She is going to make things for herself and her home without the pressure.  I'm torn really,  although I enjoy going to craft fairs with her and enjoy not having the full responsibility of getting things done on time, it will be interesting to take this business to where I want to take it, with no excuses of taking anybody else into account... hmm we will see.  In the meantime I have been finishing orders, re-ordering stocks of cards, fabric, felt and packaging, so I'm all set.  It's really quite exciting.

I also made chocolate cake because I need the energy!  I love the daffodils behind the cake, another £1 bunch, this week they have a gorgeous orange frill inside, every week they have been different x

Signs of Spring

It has been considerably warmer this week and things are looking so much better in the garden.  Frogs have returned to the pond and there is a huge amount of spawn.  I treated the birds to a new nesting box, from Crocus.  It has a beach hut look about it and I love it.  So apparently do a pair of blue tits who were in and out within 10 minutes of me putting it up.  Healthy salads also taste so much better when the sun shines!

Have a lovely weekend, hope the sun shines for you x

Back to Normal (well as normal as I get anyway!)

We had a fab week in the Yorkshire Dales, I don't want to big it up too much because it seems a fairly well kept secret and it would be a shame if it got busy.  There was plenty of snow, but the roads were clear so we were able to have a good look around.  We had some lovely walks, saw loads of these

these

The scenery was beautiful, this was the view from our cottage

Just a few more pictures to give you an overall feel of the dales

Harry liked climbing over the walls!

But now it's back to normal, lots of washing and ironing to catch up on and lots of cleaning to make our home not smell of teenage boys and alcohol, which seemed to be the order of the day whilst we were away! Never mind, it was worth it x
