Thank you so much for your lovely messages to my last post.  It really is a strange time at the moment, waiting for a funeral for a close friend that you have known for over 30 years.  But your kind words and virtual hugs really did mean a lot, so thank you xx

On the work front... garlands are the thing!  I have so many orders I can't manage on my own.  I have had to draft in help wherever I can and it is a little overwhelming.  I think I have charged too little for the time they take and the huge response I have had.  It is a very steep learning curve, this working for yourself!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend x

  5. Hello Philippa and thank you for your kind words. I'm so glad you commented I came across to see your blog and it is fab! Lots of recipes there that I want to try. Funnily enough I nearly called my blog pins and needles because when I started it I was working as a phlebotomist! but I prefer your pins and noodles! Julie x

  7. Thanks Jessica, perhaps that explains why the orders are getting bigger and bigger! Jx

  8. They are gorgeous Julie. It is really difficult to know the right price to charge for something. It's only when someone has lovingly made something themselves that they can appreciate how much time and work really goes into the making. Helen x

  9. Thanks Helen, you're right, the saying is that things are worth what people are prepared to pay, but having over 70 garland orders means I've either tapped into a market that isn't there at the moment (I haven't seen these anywhere else) which is good, or i've undercharged (I actually had a couple of people say this when they ordered them!) which is bad! 14. I'm so very sorry to hear about your friend and hope you are managing OK? Ah yes, the time/work verses price learning curve, always a hard one but I definitely think you could (and should) charge a lot more. Bethx
