Raspberry Friands

I think the Great British Bake Off is getting to me.  No longer am I satisfied with baking cupcakes and fruit cake.  No, I need to make something that sounds like it takes a lot more effort than it actually does!

A few months ago I bought this book

Katie Quinn Davies is  an award winning food, travel and lifestyle photographer and this really shows in her wonderful cook book.  It is a joy to just sit and look through and the recipes are simple, but everything I have tried so far has been delicious.

Anyway, today David took Ben off to another Uni Open Day, this time in Leeds and I was staying at home to look after Harry and carry on sewing my garlands.  Best laid plans and all that, the postman arrived with my new silicone friand mould... why haven't I used silicone before, it made baking a large batch so much easier, the cakes just slid out and I could put the next lot of mix straight in!

These were my efforts

Not bad eh?  I wish you were all nearer, they taste delicious, so light and there are loads to go round! x

  1. Be careful what you wish for.. given temptation like that, distance can be overcome. Mine is third up from bottom right, the one with the most jam..

    1. you are missing out Julie, I don't really watch tv very much, but it's the one thing we all sit and watch! I'm a bit slow catching on to silicone but am a definite convert! Jx
