Grey...

Thursday was a beacon of sunlight in a very dreary, drab, wet week.  It's hard to stay cheerful when it doesn't seem to get light all day.

Harry made a little nest in the new cream throw I put over his a sofa... why I put a cream throw on there in this weather I'll never know, it's not going to stay that colour for very long!

I cheered myself up with some cream lillies which have made the sitting room smell gorgeous, although my husband, who suffers from hayfever has been a bit snuffly, but hasn't cottoned on that it might be the flowers  that are causing it!

And of course, a little bit of Christmas making... the mix of cinnamon and cloves that I put in these are making the whole house smell very Christmassy.

How do you cheer up these dull autumn days? x

    1. A good brisk walk somewhere nice with Harry and then a cosy up by the fire I think! Although I have the first of many fairs all day on Sunday. Hope you have a lovely weekend with your family Jx

  5. Aw, Harry is just too darn cute! He looks so happy & snuggly curled up on his sofa. We've had sunshine here this morning so got out for a lovely long walk in the woods with Ben & Jerry-dog, but the forecast for the weekend is dire so I'm definitely going to do some cheer-up crafting. Just haven't quite decided what, yet... Have a happy weekend,
    xx

    1. I love your dogs and great names too Gilly! I'm hoping the weather won't be so bad tomorrow so that we can have a good old trek in the woods, hope your weekend is cosy and lots of crafting gets done... look forward to seeing the results! Jx

  6. It's been very dull indeed today, but I think I even prefer that to what's coming our way on Sunday.
Harry certainly does look cosy. It really is a dog's life.

  8. Too funny, I had a bassett when I was growing up and he would lie on the couch exactly the same way. He even looked like Harry, same spots on his legs.

    1. They are a breed all unto themselves aren't they?! Harry has a friend to play and I often can't tell them apart! He is our second basset and I can't imagine having anything else! Jx

  9. Gorgeous pooch pic :) I light scented candles when the place needs a little cheer.

  10. Me too Annie, it's such a gentle light and the scent too is really calming. Vanilla or coconut except at Christmas when it has to be cinnamon! Jx
