Happy Easter

Youngest son is off skiing in Austria with his school on Friday and middle son is house sitting whilst my husband and I have our first holiday without children in 22 years! We're off to Yorkshire for a week (we are taking Harry, the dog) and hoping we have a home to come back to!

Hope you all have a lovely Easter break and that it warms up for us all.

Leaving you with a photo of some easter bunnies getting their rest in before the big day!

I want them!!x

Yes, yet more of the white stuff has fallen and although it's not quite that deep, there must be about four or five inches out there again!  We're off to Yorkshire next weekend so I hope it's clear by then.

We finally got a new computer and now I can't work out how to download photos, hence no posts this week!  I'll work it out next week hopefully, although not a lot to show as all I have been making are bunnies as I've had loads of orders for them.

Hope you're all having a safe, warm weekend x

Spring has disappeared under snow flurries and a wind chill factor to rival siberia.  Apart from a meal out with friends to celebrate a birthday and visiting mums on Sunday I spent most of my time watching rugby and sewing easter egg bags.  I also made some spring bunting from the gorgeous fabric  in my last post.  This is for a village shop that sells a lot of our things and they always decorate their windows with our bunting.  I'm not sure even this cheerful bunting will brighten up this cold dark day, but it's worth a try x

On my kitchen table today

Bunnies cut out, with tails ready for a new project.  Gardening plans. Gorgeous new fabric that arrived today that I am going to use in an order for spring bunting and bunnies ready to wrap and send.  I need more hours in the day... and a bigger kitchen table!  Hope you're all enjoying this lovely spring weather x

What a lovely weekend.  The weather has warmed up and yesterday was really sunny.  It makes me feel so much better.  I spent time in the garden looking at what has survived from last year and everything is shooting well, my rhubarb is coming up well already.  I brought the sunshine in with the lovely cream tulips.  I learnt last week from a friend that if you put a pin through the stalk just under the flower it stops them from drooping.  I tried it, and it really works (am I the last person to know this?!)

Thank you to Beth over at the Linen Cat for her lovely comments about Claude, it's lovely when people say nice things isn't it?!

Apart from a little bit of gardening and a bit of baking I had time to make a few more bunnies!  I am surrounded now!  Let's hope the weather stays dry and sunny this week x

buying and baking

Firstly, a big thank you to 'a girl's guide to turning 50' for the fab chocolate cookie recipe (Nigel Slater).  These were chewy just like you promised and the family all commented that they were the best I'd made.

I had a bit of a spend on new fabric this week, it was (sharp intake of breath) Christmas fabric!  I know, that's the last thing you want to be thinking about, but I am determined to not be rushing about in October onwards, but to make things all year so that I can enjoy the run up to Christmas this year.  Plus, the fabric was on sale!

This weekend however I will be surrounding myself with more bunnies, which is much more in keeping with Spring.  Happy 1st March, Spring is here, have a lovely weekend x
